The Nated N4-N6 Engineering qualification provides the theoretical component for obtaining a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. The practical consists of 24 months of work experience relevant to your specific trade.

  • National Certificate N4: Mechanical Engineering

Choose a minimum of 4 of the subjects below.

  • Mathematics N5
  • Mechanical Drawing and Design N5
  • Strength of Materials and Structure N5
  • Mechano Technics N5
  • Fluid Mechanics N5
  • Power Machines N5
Assessment and award:

Students are required to complete the following:

  • 3 assignments per subject (passmark 50%)
  • 1 exam per subject

Upon completion of this course, students will be awarded a Certificate of Achievement: N5 Mechanical Engineering from the DHET.

Additional information:

N courses are offered and assessed by Oxbridge Academy. After gaining a qualifying year mark, students will be admitted to write the national examination at an approved venue. Read our N4-N6 Exam letter for information on writing the exams.
