2016 is going to be a great year. Why? Because it is going to be the year for realising your dreams. That is, of course, if you take some advice from Oxbridge Academy’s principal, Elbie Liebenberg.
Here is how you can make the most out of 2016, according to our principal:
1. Dream big!
You need to dream big — as big as you can — and chase that dream with everything you have. As the saying goes:
“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll at least land amongst the stars.” (Click here to Tweet this quote!)
2. Be desperate!
You must be hungry — desperate — to achieve your dream. Chase it at all costs, no matter what stands in your way. Remember: There is nothing you can’t overcome.
3. Be disciplined!
Plot out a plan, set up a schedule, get into a routine, and start working your way towards your dream. You have to stick to your plan, and be disciplined, if you want to realise your dream.
4. Be dedicated!
Don’t lose focus. Always keep your eyes on your goal, no matter what doubts or distractions start creeping in. As Martin Luther King Jr said:
“If you can’t fly, then run. If you can’t run, then walk. If you can’t walk, then crawl. But whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.” (Click here to Tweet this quote!)
5. Be determined!
2016 won’t be all sunshine and roses. It will get tough, and sometimes you will feel like giving up. But it is then that you need to push through. You need to keep going when others would give up — this is what will set you apart from the rest. So be dedicated to your goal, even when there are setbacks or bad results.
This year is going to be your year to do something great: get that job, finish your course, earn a promotion, or generally make an improvement in your life. So let’s make the most of 2016 — together!
